Welsh Coast and Country Cottages
A truly delightful cottage for two situated in what has to be described as an oasis of 45 acres of pastureland and equestrian paddocks surrounded by mature woodland with walks, paths, a fitness trail and bridleways to enjoy. The village of Treleck is only a mile away and has an award winning traditional pub where you can enjoy real ales and excellent food. Monmouth, Chepstow and Ross on Wye are within easy reach and Cardiff and the Severn Bridge are just an hour away. There are several championship golf courses close by and the Brecon Beacons National park for those who enjoy walking.
An idyllic cottage nestled in a "secret farm" surrounded by acres of woodland. There is so much you could do whilst on holiday here if you can bear to tear yourself away from these perfect surroundings near the Welsh border. From this base you could walk the Brecon Beacons, rock climb, take a Canadian canoe adventure, try out caving or explore Raglan castle. The village of Trelleck is a mile away and boasts a pub which has won numerous awards for its beer, food and fires. Monmouth has a great selection of places to visit and some wonderful eateries. The cottage has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is ideal for a couple or a small family as there is a sofa bed for occasional use.
The Dovecote is an idyllic romantic round tower hideaway for two situated in the beautiful Lower Wye Valley in the border county of the Welsh Marches. Offa's Dyke follows the River Wye below the Dovecote and the old railway line with its bridge at The Boat Inn (10 minutes walk and serves a selection of guest ales and great pub food) offers excellent walking. The cottage is one of the last on the former Duke of Beaufort's Estate and within a few minutes of the site where in 1404 Owain Glyndwr won the battle of Craig y Dorth against Henry IV's English army. This tower is a real "find" and not to be missed.
Raglan is the gateway to the Wye Valley, it boasts a magnificent castle and is surrounded by stunning scenery. The market towns of Abergavenny, Monmouth and Usk are all within 7 miles of the cottage and offer excellent eating and shopping facilities as well as historic attractions. Ross on Wye, The Brecon Beacons and Tintern Abbey are all within easy reach. As well as Raglan Castle, there are at least 11 more within a 40 minute drive. There are village shops and 3 excellent pubs which serve food within a 10 minute walk.
