aberglasney gardens

Aberglasney is a historic mansion house, set in 10 acres of beautiful gardens. It’s approximately half a mile from the A40, in between Llandeilo and Carmarthen in the Towy Valley.

Aberglasney is open to the public every day except Christmas Day and makes for a great day out in the heart of Carmarthenshire. Facilities at Aberglasney include a cafe and shop, the latter also selling plants raised in the gardens. The cafe offers alfresco dining overlooking the large pond and has a wide and varied menu to enjoy.

Aberglasney Gardens

The gardens contain cloisters, a Yew tunnel and regimented formal kitchen and fruit gardens. There is also a small woodland walk and a large pond. The mansion house itself has seen many construction stages and has been rebuilt on at least 2 occasions. The gardens at Aberglasney are also very close to the Botanical Garden of Wales – also well worth a visit.

If you are looking for an alternative place to dine, some 1.8 miles east along the A40 you will find The Cottage Inn on your right-hand side, which offers a choice of home-produced beef and lamb dishes, homemade lasagnes, steaks, curries and much more, plus a selection of real ales.
