Llanllwni Mountain

We show you some of the best spots in Carmarthenshire

Llanllwni Mountain Vista

More of a rolling hill than what you may imagine as a mountain, Llanllwni Mountain has plenty of history spanning as far back as the Pre-historic. Human activity on the mountain was predominantly more widespread during the Bronze Age and the Post-Medieval periods.

Today the mountain offers splendid views of the surrounding countryside - the Preseli Hills and Brecon Beacons can be seen on clear days from near the summit.

Directions: Head for Llanybydder on the A485 from Carmarthen. At Llanllwni turn right off the main road at the sign post for Rhydcymerau - follow the road over a cattle grid and on up to Llanllwni Mountain.

There is a small car park on the right some 400 meters up the hill past the cattle grid.

Places to eat nearby include Y Talardd in Llanllwni or The Belle a little further along the A485 at Aber-Giar.
