Ceredigion's largest Town and situated at the mouth of the Rivers Ystwyth and Rheidol.
Aberystwyth is a seaside University Town and also home to the National Library of Wales. It was very popular during Victorian times as a beachside resort and much of its Victorian past is still visible along the seafront.
Along the seafront there are a pier, a promenade and a still working Funicular Railway which climbs high above the town and offers splendid views over Ceredigion from Constitution Hill.
Aberystwyth is also home to three beaches - north beach, south beach and Tanybwlch beach. North beach is very popular and retains a feel of Victorian splendour with its pier and groynes. The south beach is situated below Aberystwyth's now ruined castle and is quite a popular surfing beach and Tanybwlch is on the outskirts, just south of town.
Other amenities in the area include a marina and a golf course which is situated high up on a hill above Aberystwyth and offering fine views over the surrounding countryside.
In Town, you will find everything you need including a good selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafe's.
