“We had a lovely stay at Pen Yr Maes.”

Tucked away in a beautiful part of Wales, it was peaceful and relaxing. The property was ideal for us with a 3 year old and a baby. Our 3 year old loved running around the house and with it being on one level we knew he was safe. The property is spacious and comfortable and really felt like a home from home. The hot tub was an added benefit too! A short walk to the local pub for Sunday lunch, which was inviting and friendly, was very much enjoyed. Overall a wonderful little break ...

Everything about this fantastic property portrays style and modern elegance; there are three beautifully capacious bedrooms all with superb countryside views, a home ideally suited to families or friends.

A rural setting surrounded by the property gardens, fully enclosed so it is suitable for children and pets with views overlooking glorious open fields and access onto a footpath over the old castle hill.

The cottage has an open-plan kitchen and dining area with a beautiful dining table and stunning views out through the French doors into the garden.

You also have the added utility room, with fridge/freezer and washing machine so you have an advantage of extra space in the kitchen area.

The sitting room features a lovely wood burner, so if you're feeling chilly during the winter season, turn up the heat and get cosy on the deluxe leather sofas.

You will be overwhelmed by the panoramic, picturesque views from the garden which features a barbecue and exceptionally large hot tub, so why not take a nice hot soak after a long day of country hiking before your evening meal, should you choose to dine indoors or out, you have the option.

In Builth Wells, just a 10-minute drive away is the RWAS showground, home of the Royal Welsh Show, hosting other big public events all-year-round.

The highlights are the Spring Festival held in May for smallholding, gardening and sustainable living enthusiasts and the Winter Fair, held in December which features livestock displays and a huge Christmas market.

Hay-on-Wye is a 20 minute drive in the opposite direction which features historic sites, mountainous walks and many shops to visit.

Pen Y Maes is of superb quality and professional finish throughout with lovely modern fixtures, an ideal holiday location, sitting just below the ruins of historical Aberedw Castle.
