“Stayed here with my girlfriend and dog for New Year 24 into 25 and had a lovely 3 nights.”

We do these sorts of getaways semi-regularly so are always looking for similar stuff when we come away (hot tub, enclosed garden, secluded, dog friendly, value for money). My girlfriend said that this was one of if not her favourite place we’ve been to. Personally, from previous experience and weighing everything up, this would’ve been middle of the road for me. There were too many small things that could’ve been improved for it to be the best (only 1 hot tub speaker working, the privacy screen not working properly, headrests coming off all the time with some already missing, living room sofa really uncomfortable and different to the one pictured, no salt and pepper upon arrival, only 2 toilet rolls provided for a house of 4 across 3 nights, horrific state of the final mile drive into the lodges, general state of the pizza oven area although maybe it’s the wrong time of the year for that). None of these things are huge, but when I take into consideration what I’ve paid in the past for cottages and what we’ve got and then compare it to this time, I feel I’ve gotten more for my money previously. That being said, the seclusion and enclosed garden was really appreciated as well as the hot tub being so close to the patio door. The beds were so comfortable and loved how dark it was at night, so easy to drift off to sleep. The wine left for us on arrival was a nice touch too.

Thank you for coming to stay at Ploony hill lodge, so pleased you had a lovely 3 night stay. We are really disappointed and sorry you found small issues and wish you would have contacted us about this or mentioned them on my feedback form in the lodge to make us aware. We try hard to ensure all guests have a wonderful stay. We will look into the issues you have mentioned. Many thanks Take care Lindsey and Darren Property Owner
