Lorena “Everything was great.”
Beth (the property owner) was so lovely. We couldn't have hoped for a warmer welcome! The cottage really is a little home away from home. So comfy, and the views can't be beaten! It really was the perfect place for us to get away as a couple, and we loved every minute. The hot tub and the cinema room are great additions, we spent an entire week at the retreat and didn't even leave the cottage on some days, as it had everything we needed! Thank you so much Beth for having us, and we will ...

The Retreat
The Retreat consists of a charming cottage and shepherd’s hut nestled in grounds of the owners small holding, immersed in the magnificent scenery of Powys, just a few miles from the amenities of Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant. These quaint abodes are the perfect choice for couples looking to break away from everyday life and experience a private location in North Wales. Whilst the properties differ in terms of style, with The Retreat offering a cottage style with its own living area and cinema room and the Shepherd’s Hut containing just a bedroom and external kitchen/bathroom, they both overlook the beautiful Tanat Valley and provide excellent walking over the Berwyn Mountains. Off-road parking is available for both on the premises and laundry facilities are provided in a separate out building. From the door, there are plenty of fantastic walks onto the surrounding wildflower meadows and hills, or continue to the breath-taking waterfall, Pistyll Rhaeadr, a 240-foot mountain waterfall, accessed by a scenic woodland footpath. The nearby village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant has a good range of amenities including two pubs, a hotel, a café and a fish and chip shop. The lovely lakes of Vyrnwy and Bala are a little further afield and waiting to be explored. A delightful duo of properties for a Welsh break, whatever time of year.
