    “Lovely property, one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed in.”

    Were lucky enough to sit out in the garden a couple of evenings enjoying the beautiful view. Beds very comfortable and sofa in lounge also comfy. Loved relaxing in front of the log burner. Nice walks not too far away. Only criticism would be the folder with information in, stated that the reason for no welcome pack was because of Covid 19. I don’t t have a problem with no welcome pack as we had a shopping delivery booked, but I think using Covid as a reason to not even provide a pint of milk ...

The property

A characterful, stone-built cottage sitting at the centre of Cemmaes on the banks of the River Dyfi, Bwthyn Dyfi makes a beautiful, rustic retreat to base a holiday in Mid Wales.

In easy reach of a variety of coastal and countryside attractions, this quirky cottage is perfectly suited to a family of four or a couple seeking an action-packed getaway within an idyllic location.

Take in the beauty of the cottage with its traditional stone-front and red framing and make your way into the snug sitting room where you will find a warming woodburning stove sat beneath the rustic beams of the room, with an inviting corner sofa welcoming you in to unwind for the evening.

Venture into the kitchen/diner and carry on your conversations around the dining table while the chef of the group delights at the fantastic range of appliances on offer; this room boasts a beautiful farmhouse feel, with its colourful furnishings offering a bright and airy essence to the accommodation, it makes a fantastic social spot from which to toast to a wonderful holiday.

When the day draws to a close, retreat up to the first floor to find your two sleeping spots, made up of a double with exposed stone wall bringing character to the room, with soft, pastel hues and ample storage space, this room is perfect for the adults of the group, whilst the little ones will love cosying up in the neighbouring twin room, a charming, bright and airy space, the layout of the bedrooms is wonderfully suited to a family of four.

The bathroom is an equally as elegant room within the property, echoing blue hues to create a calming atmosphere, here you can choose from a relaxing soak in the impressive freestanding bath which also offers a handheld shower, or a rejuvenating rinse in the separate walk-in shower, both offering a refreshing start to your day.

Outside the cottage you can find an astonishing garden, with a patio area overlooking the tranquillity of the river below and the hills beyond, there's no better place to enjoy a hearty breakfast or a romantic meal with your loved one, offering you the ultimate experience of the Welsh countryside.

The local village of Cemmaes is a lovely base for a Welsh getaway, with a local pub and a coffee shop with a local store, you can find everything needed for a self-catered stay on your doorstep.

Take a stroll along the scenic River Dyfi, packing up a picnic to bring along with you on your adventure, or venture further afield to Aberystwyth to find a plethora of waterside restaurants for a truly indulgent dining experience, as well as parks and gardens to explore before ending your day on its picturesque pier, with the beach's golden sands being perfect for a family day out to remember.

Sat on the fringes of the Snowdonia National Park, you can find a whole host of walking and cycling routes around you; venture up Mount Snowdon to find its peak offering rewarding views, with access via a variety of walking routes or by a train journey for those seeking to simply kick back and relax, or explore by horseback for a view with a difference and a new experience you're bound to love.

Cemmaes is a lovely little village surrounded by the rolling hills of Mid Wales set in the stunning valley of the River Dyfi. With a pretty village church and a scattering of houses with lanes leading down to the river, Cemmaes is the perfect little place for a relaxing retreat. Just 10 minutes’ drive away is the small market town of Machynlleth. The streets of the town spread out from the 19th century clock tower, and offer a good mix of specialist shops, pubs and cafes, in addition to the regular street markets held every Wednesday. The town boasts two art galleries, and is home to the Museum of Modern Arts, Wales, which showcases the work of a variety of international artists, as well as staging concerts and lectures in its 400 seat auditorium. From Cemmaes it is a short drive to the coast in one direction and the town of Dolgellau in the other making it ideally placed for taking advantage of the superb walking, mountain biking, riding, beaches, fishing and rock climbing available in the area.
