    “The Sheepshed is probably the nicest property we have ever stayed in and there have been many.”

    The views are stunning and the property itself is beautiful. There is so much space, so much comfort and even the bathrooms warranted some photos! The bedroom with the whole window view was stunning, the decking area and hot tub is lovely and Dan maintains the hot tub daily. This is not intrusive and was really lovely to be able to ask questions about the local area and get tips on where to go and the best butchers etc. The property has had so much thought put into it to make it perfect. Alternatively, while away the hours as you rustle up something tasty on the barbecue while soaking up the Welsh sunshine.

From the door there are plenty of wonderful walks, including the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, a breath-taking location standing at 240 feet high, it's an impressive landmark and Britain’s tallest single drop waterfall.

Those keen to get their steps in can explore the famous Offa’s Dyke Path, a 177 miles walking trail which loosely follows the England/Wales border, you can hop on it near Welshpool, or head to Oswestry and while you’re there you can discover the British Ironwork Centre, Old Oswestry Hill Fort, and the Park Hall Countryside Experience.

If watersports are your passion, sailing and fishing can be enjoyed at Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, or hop on a steam train at the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway and marvel at the countryside from a different perspective.

With all this, along with Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in easy reach, a holiday at The Sheep Shed ticks all the boxes.

Lake Vyrnwy 8 miles; Bala 18 miles.

This pleasant village lies in the beautiful Tanat Valley at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, only 4 miles from one of the Seven Wonders of Wales - the magnificent Pistyll Rhaeadr (240 ft high waterfall). Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant was the location for the successful film, The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain, and more recently the film Nativity 2 starring David Tennant. The village boasts two general stores, a newsagents, a Post Office, a butchers, two pubs, one hotel, one cafe and a fish and chip shop. It is surrounded by lovely countryside, providing walking trails for all abilities including Berwyn Ridge Walk and a trail to the summit of the waterfall. Discover lovely Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, Powys Castle and Gardens, medieval Shrewsbury and Chester and the wonderful Snowdonia National Park.
