The property

This welcoming farmhouse is a perfect base for families and friends seeking days out in the beautiful Mid Wales countryside, yet being close to a selection of rural towns and villages.

Set over two floors, there are four light and airy bedrooms, along with a family bathroom.

The well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen comes with split-level dining area and comfy seating around a welcoming oil-fired range, the perfect place for everyone to gather together whilst delicious family meals are being prepared or why not head to the games room for a game of pool or darts?

Outside, you can sit in the separated lawned garden, accessed through the lane, with views across to the other side of the small valley, and enjoy a morningÂ’s coffee or perhaps an evening picnic whilst the children run off any remaining energy.

The small village of Llanafan Fawr is criss-crossed with footpaths and steeped in history, boasting the oldest pub in Powys and a 2200-year old yew tree.

Just 6 miles away you can join the Wye Valley Walk, an undulating trail through the varied landscapes of the Welsh border countryside.

Being virtually of equal distance, you are ideally placed to explore both the beautiful scenery of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) and the rolling Shropshire Hills.

The Royal Welsh Showground is just nine miles away, making this a perfect base for groups enjoying the various events held there.

Head north and youÂ’ll quickly drive into the stunning Cambrian Mountains and the popular Elan Valley, with its majestic Victorian Dams and lakes, offering a great day out.

To the south, the pretty ‘Town of Books’ - Hay-on-Wye offers a myriad of bookshops, and of course, its famous literary festival.

A lovely opportunity to stay in a cosy, former farmhouse with elevated views across the surrounding working farmland.
