    “Our second stay at Bank House and it was absolutely delightful.”

    This really is a little gem and its location is superb, remote enough to be away from hustle and bustle yet within easy distance of Cardigan and Carmarthen and their respective coasts. The fully enclosed patio makes it a joy for dog owners as escape is nigh on impossible and they can be let out without any anxiety. Jenny is the perfect host, close enough if you need anything but not intrusive (and the lemon drizzle cake was lovely) Bank House is definitely now on our list of destinations for ...

A quaint village cottage in the small hamlet of Capel Iwan in the undulating countryside of Carmarthenshire, close to the popular and thriving market town of Newcastle Emlyn with a selection of independent and antique shops and various little places to eat.

The cottage is a perfect retreat for couples or small families looking to explore the fabulous local countryside, yet being close to a bustling small town and just twelve miles from the beautiful sandy beaches of West Wales.

Set over two floors, there are two cosy bedrooms with a family bathroom.

This is a deceptively spacious property with lovely character features and with plenty of room to relax, with a well-equipped kitchen opening out onto the patio and a spacious dining area leading through to a cosy sitting room where you can snuggle up in front of the TV.

Capel Iwan Cottages

Nestled in the small village of Capel Iwan, within the heart of South Wales, are these charming cottages, Bank House and Gwynfa. Both cottages have been renovated to a high-standard and come with a varied selection of contemporary furnishings and quality fixtures whilst still managing to retain some of its original features such as the exposed beams, making these properties a homely base to spend your holiday, and are most suitable for families or a group of friends. Be welcomed into delightful sitting rooms with a range of seating set around the woodburning stoves encased in a small inglenook fireplace. Find quaint kitchens with lovely cream units and sleek wooden worktops offering all the necessary appliances needed to cook up some delicious meals, whilst the dining areas have plenty of seating for those family gatherings over a sparkling glass of champagne. The local town of Newcastle Emlyn is a popular hub of rural life, with fabulous little shops and cafés, and sits alongside the River Teifi which is renowned for fishing all the way down river through the pretty village of Cenarth with its popular waterfalls through to Cardigan and out into the bay. You are ideally placed to explore the fabulous sandy beaches and craggy coves of Cardigan Bay with the popular villages of Tresaith and Aberporth just 12 miles away, or perhaps take a trip a little further to the traditional seaside resort of New Quay and you may be lucky to catch a sighting of the resident dolphins from the harbour wall. The area offers numerous outdoor activities including marine and wildlife spotting boat trips, coasteering and whitewater canoeing or fishing on the River Teifi. To the south are the Preselli Hills with fabulous heathland terrain, perfect for walking and enjoying panoramic views. You are also close to the beginning of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park which wraps around from the west to the South Wales coastline, opening up a myriad of opportunities for fantastic days out. There are various National Trust properties, with the iconic white chapel and the beaches of Mwnt, the beautiful stretch of sand at Penbryn or the working estate at Llanerchaeron, all being just a scenic drive away. The bustling market town of Newcastle Emlyn is set on the River Teifi and offers an array of shops, both unique local producers and larger chain stores, such as designer clothes, crafts and jewellery, antiques, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and a ruined castle, plus fishing permits are available nearby. Surrounding Newcastle Emlyn is beautiful countryside, whilst the rugged Cardiganshire coastline is just six miles away, where you have the opportunity to visit Cardigan Island Farm Park, wonderful sandy beaches, or take a boat trip to spot dolphins and seals at New Quay. Within driving distance is the town of Carmarthen, Dylan Thomas' Boat House in Laugharne, Cenarth Falls,Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Oakwood Theme Park and train rides at Henllan, along with an array of castles, mills and craft centres.
