Christopher “We had a great stay.”
Our son loved the garden. 2 fridges so enough space for food for the whole week! Air fryer and microwave in addition to wide oven. Nice neighbour with cute little dogs. While the description says stream on the property, don't let this put you off as it is the other side of a fence and it was dry when we stayed.

Mary-jo “We love how Rebecca asked if we got there safely and when we went back home.”
I place was so homely and quiet we could have stayed there longer. The wildlife came in to the garden and I got some coconut feeders plus monkey nuts for squirrels and birds. Brilliant time visiting my family and friends also showing where I spent my youth in the area.

Everything looks like it has been done with care. Kitchen facilities and equipment is great. Lovely comfortable nights sleep. It is a really good central point for exploring the coast and the mountains.

Kip “Rebecca, the owner, was friendly and solicitous of our needs.”
She went out of her way to help. The property fully deserves 5 stars. Rebecca gets six. The location suited us well. With a car, the hills, the sea, castles, caves, railways, gardens, Swansea, and more, are in easy reach. Our only disappointment - we were unlucky with the weather, which discouraged us from making the most of the garden and patio.

We just love it.

Craig “Fantastic cottage perfectly situated between the brecons and the gower which allowed us to stretch our legs or chill on the beach.”
The cottage was a home from home with great kitchen, with all the utensils you could ask for. The kitchen diner opened up with double fresh doors to a great garden with a nice view. Wet room was perfect and the 2 separate toilet were spotless and never a queue for a wee. The main living room was nice to chill in the evening and with a guest netflix account allowed us to watch a few movies. I can highly recommend this as a base for a multi activity holiday with so much within a 30 min drive north east south or west
- Craig, August 2022So happy that you enjoyed your stay at Pondfield Gate. Property Owner

Jemma “We had an incredible week here and would highly recommend this property to others.”
The garden was amazing, huge and covered in lush green grass, beautifully edged by large mature trees. Detached property which provided privacy but felt connected enough to neighbours to not feel alone. The kitchen/diner was a huge plus point to the property as was the utility room and wet room - these all made the property extremely convenient for us as a family. We had incredibly hot weather which certainly helped, but every morning we enjoyed opening the double set of patio doors and eating outdoors listening to the birds and admiring the views. The owners are lovely people, who genuinely care about their property and the people who stay there. We are grateful to have stumbled across Pondfield Gate and would love to return.
- Jemma, August 2022Thank you so much your feedback, we love to hear that our guests had a great week. You really did have an amazing week with the beautiful sunshine and were able to enjoy the garden. Thank you for choosing Pondfield Gate Property Owner

Craig “Pondfield Gate was a wonderful property, which had clearly been carefully planned by the owners, who had invested care, love and attention in the property.”
The house was clean and tidy, and beautifully appointed; in fact there were very many extras that my wife and I agreed that Pondfield Gate offered some of the best facilities we have ever found in a home away from home. It was impossible not to feel relaxed and comfortable. As a base Pondfield Gate is perfect for exploring a wide area of South Wales. We roamed across the Brecon Beacons, and out to the coast, and the proximity of the property to good transport links made getting about easy to do. Pondfield Gate exceeded out expectations, and gave us a holiday that we shall remember for a very long time. Thank you.
- Craig, October 2019 -
Christine “The warm welcome from our host was only exceeded by the wine and cake!”
!! We had a wonderful week here and would love to return again.
- Christine, August 2019 -
Charlotte “A lovely cottage.”
Very clean so I felt relaxed and comfortable. Three year old daughter settled straight in. Beautiful garden and a superb hostess who was there for all our needs but quietly in the background so we could enjoy the cottage as if it were our own. Only downside was coming back to our own kitchen, because that one was very special.
- Charlotte, August 2019 -
Mike “Warm welcome, beautifully equipped, perfect base for holiday.”
Couldn't fault it
- Mike, July 2019 -
Kerry “Fantastic cottage with everything you could need, and more.”
Rebecca is an excellent host and greeted us with a warm welcome. The cottage was spotless and had so many extra touches to make your stay enjoyable. It is situated close to the Brecon Beacons and about an hour from the coast, so plenty of things to do in the area. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone, it particularly suited our family of 4.
- Kerry, May 2019 -

Angela “A lovely house.”
Very well equipped and very cosy. The cakes, milk and wine are nice after a long journey. Very easy to find, the directions were good. All amenities are a few miles away. The bird feeder in the garden is visited by lots of birds, which was great to watch whilst having our breakfast. Bird food was supplied, which is a lovely touch. We had a very comfortable stay and will try to go back.
- Angela, March 2019 -
Laura “A beautiful house in a peaceful setting.”
It was lovely to sit outside and eat dinner listening to the leaves rustling in the trees. We had a warm welcome from the owner, she made sure we had everything we needed and provided some much appreciated goodies on our arrival! I think if you have tea and cake, it makes a house feel like home. Thank you very much for the gate lock and tarpaulin for the motorbike. It made his holiday having his baby with him, made my holiday having a happy other half! We all felt very spoiled at the end of the week.
- Laura, July 2018 -
Stephen “Mrs Reed was very welcoming & didn’t have a problem with us arriving late, a beautiful place indeed”
- Stephen, July 2018 -
Una “This is one of the best houses we've stayed in - and there have been a few.”
Massive kitchen- you could easily entertain 6 adults if you have visitors. The two separate living rooms are a godsend. The snug afforded us peace and quiet to read whilst the kids watched tv in the other room. The only down side was that it was a little way away from the action. About 7 mins drive to a large Tesco and swimming pool but nothing really within walking distance. It was fine for us because we had the car - a really great house!
- Una, June 2018 -
Hope-marie “My family and I had such a fabulous week, the weather was perfect, the cottage outstanding.”
The owners were so warm and welcoming and full of information. We will definitely be coming back again!
- Hope-marie, June 2018 -

Angela “A beautiful cottage, splendidly equipped and furnished with care to a high standard.”
We were given a warm welcome, good information about the property and ideas for exploring the area. The home-baking, tea and prosecco on arrival was lovely touch! We had everything we needed for a great cottage holiday.
- Angela, September 2017 -
Samantha “Wonderful cottage in Wales - close to Swansea and the Gower, which we know well, but also close to the Brecon Beacons, which encouraged us to explore a new part of the country!”
The cottage was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owner gave us a very warm welcome, along with delicious homemade cakes! We will be going back.
- Samantha, August 2017 -
Michael “Pondfield Gate is a great example of what a holiday cottage should be.”
The renovation and extension of the original building has been very well done. The furnishings and decor are quite exceptional and the cottage comes with all the equipment that you need. The owner met us with a friendly and informative greeting and was available should we have needed her during the holiday. Wet weather kept us indoors on several occasions but this was not a problem in such nice accommodation. There is little to commend the village of Cymgors itself except that it is a convenient base for visits to Cardiff, Swansea, the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, all within an hour's drive. We also visited the National Trust properties at Aberdulais (40 minutes), Dinefwr (30 minutes) and Rhosilli (60 minutes). It was a good holiday only marred by too much liquid sunshine!
- Michael, June 2017 -
Clair “The holiday was great.”
The host was amazing. Really nice cottage.
- Clair, April 2017 -

Jane “We so enjoyed our stay at Pondfield Gate.”
The cottage is set in a large garden with a great patio for eating or relaxing while watching the wild birds feed. The cottage itself is superbly furnished and has everything you could possibly need, inside and out. Two beautifully presented bedrooms with plenty of storage. The lounge with real log burner and comfy seating was lovely to settle down in after dinner in the evening, to watch TV or a DVD. The large kitchen/diner is flooded with light from the wall of windows overlooking the back garden, and is stocked with everything you could possibly need and more besides. With three WC, a gorgeous bath and large wet room, what more could you want? Well there IS more.. a second lounge, which is so pretty and bright and beautifully decorated. A great place to escape to, to read, listen to the radio, or just relax. We were in a good position to visit the beaches of Mumbles and The Gower, St.David's, The Botanic Gardens, Tenby and much much more. If you don't want to go far every day there are beautiful sights to be seen and picnic spots to be had in The Black Mountains, just a few minutes drive away. However, the cottage is so lovely, you might not want to go out. We certainly didn't want to leave! The owners live nearby and were charming and extremely helpful without being intrusive. We would most definitely love to stay again.
