“Kymin View is a lovely comfortable holiday home.”

It is a short walk into Monmouth and a good base for exploring the surrounding area. We enjoyed a walk up to the Kymin and completed the Sculpture Trail in the Forest of Dean. There are lots of lovely places to visit nearby and we enjoyed exploring Monmouth. We also had a lovely meal at the Estero Lounge, visited the Savoy Theatre and are missing our daily visits to the Coffi Lab for the lovely coffee and cakes. Thanks for a lovely stay at the cosy Kymin View cottage.

“A lovely property in a quiet yet convenient part of Monmouth, it was easy to walk into town and to the riverbank,or in my case drive my mobility scooter.”

The house had a spacious living room and although the kitchen isn't very big it was perfectly adequate for holiday meals. There is a downstairs toilet as well as a lovely bathroom and 2 spacious bedrooms. The weather was hot and the wind out awning over the patio kept the living room cooler. The owner had also kindly included a fan on the landing. The area is full of history and we visited Raglan Castle and Tintern Abbey. Checkout The Gateway cinema at Ross , we were lucky enough to find a showing of Les Miserables, with a talk from a chap who had played various roles in the West End. It was the highlight of our holiday.

“This was our second stay at this property and it was excellent again.”

The property is well equiped and confortable and is close to all amenities and just a short walk to the town shops etc. There are a couple of suggestions i would like to make to further enhance the holday experience. 1/ provide a clock in the living room. 2/ change the tv in the living room for a larger screen.

House was well equipped, comfy and very warm. Lots of DVD’s for entertainment if needed. Fridge freezer was a decent size and kitchen had everything needed for our stay. Toilets on both floors was very handy for our family of four! Parking on the drive was brilliant and can easily accommodate two cars, with quite a lot of parking also available on street if needed. Nice views of the Kymin from back of house. Nice private garden with table and chairs when the sun came out and loved watching the birds throughout the day… especially the robins whom loved the garden as well.

5 mins to the lovely town on foot with great shops pubs and scenery all round . From the house you can see the Kymin on top of its hill a lovely walk from Staunton via Kymin for those who are fit. Great comfy beds and wifi mostly good . Easy to explore the Forest of Dean with an irregular but very handy stagecoach bus that gets you into the FOD for £2 7 days a week or to lovely Hereford 6 days a week again £2 each way or to Ross and Symonds Yat for a little bit more great to watch the scenery go by. Brilliant stay so convenient.

“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kymin View at the start of August.”

The local area was beautiful and well worth exploring, but even if you did want to travel further afield, you are really well positioned close to the main routes. The house was a lot more spacious than we imagined it would be and very well maintained. The kitchen was probably the best equipped kitchen we've ever had in a holiday rental with just about everything you could need. The only downside being that there wasn't an empty cupboard/shelf for our food for the week, but still plenty of space. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. The black-out blinds were a very welcome feature, especially as we were travelling with young, early riser! There was plenty of clothes storage in both room, but particularly in the master bedroom. The bathroom was also nice and clean, and the shower was very good (and I'm not often able to say that about rentals). The house was absolutely full of positives. The host had helpfully left lots of information about the local area, and the fresh milk in the fridge was a really thoughtful touch. Especially if you've travelled a long way to get there. If we had to pick out a negative it would be the lack of washing machine. As a family with young children, it's definitely helpful to have a washing machine to hand, but it didn't impact our stay or our wonderful week away, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Kymin View again. We also watched a couple of DVDs. The property is in an ideal location being only a few minutes walk from the town centre of Monmouth. Plenty of restaurants to eat at in the evening. Monmouth is a lovely town and the countryside around beautiful.

Easy walking distance to the centre of town with good shopping, restaurants and surrounding area very beautiful. The house it self has been very thoughtfully furnished and a delight for self catering. Unfortunately as it is attached to another house it was not the quiet retreat sitting in the garden but our fault for not planning to stay in a more remote area. We would recommend this holiday home though as it does offer so much and we did enjoy our stay. Very lucky to have very good weather all week and Monmouth is such a friendly town.

The property is cosy and mostly comfortable except for the beds which were too hard for our liking.It has all the equipment anyone would want , except for it would have nice to have a clock in the living room.I could not find instructions for most of the equipment though. Overall ,this is a very good holiday home and we would recommend it to anyone.

Kymin View ticked all the boxes, it is a very comfortable modern cottage in a quiet cul-de-sac with off road parking. A five minute level walk takes you to the Monnow bridge and you are in Monmouth town. It worked perfectly for us as a base to tour the area and have all the amenities of Monmouth on our doorstep come back to.

It was like a home from home. Excellent location for access to the many pubs, shops and restaurants in Monmouth. Also for walking there was easy access to the Wye Valley long distance footpath and Offa's Duke. Ideal for trips further afield such as the races at Chepstow and historic Bristol not to mention all the historic towns, villages and castles around.

MONMOUTH

Ross-on-Wye 10 miles; Usk, 14.5 miles; Abergavenny 18.5 miles.

An intriguing market town on the border between Wales and England and close to the exceptional Offa’s Dyke, this wonderful town combines old and new, from the old castle ruins to the vibrant weekly market. Located at the confluence of 3 rivers – the Wye, the Monnow and the Trothy, it is an excellent base to enjoy river boating, scenic walks and a little shopping too, or to sit and relax on the edge of the river and watch the rowers who regularly race and practise their skills. Monmouth is most famous as the birthplace of Henry V and offers the opportunity to see historic buildings, the preserved medieval 13th century bridge over the river Monnow (the only one of its kind in Britain) and the famous Nelson Garden. This is truly a small town with a huge array of interesting sights to visit. The surrounding areas are steeped in history too and short drives will take you to nearby Usk, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye and even into the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. A perfect location with so much to see for all ages.
