“The property is located in a quiet side street.”

Everything you need for your daily needs is within walking distance. The owners put a lot of thought into the selection of the furnishings and everyday items. We felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, communication with the agency via the app needs improvement. For example, the waste separation system and cleaning of the property could be explained better for foreigners.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely gem of a cottage.”

It was ideally located to access local amenities in pretty Newport, and down the road towards Parrog. Awen Ingli was fully equipped with everything we needed, and we enjoyed cooking, and relaxing in the evenings there. We also enjoyed returning to sit outside with a cuppa, whether the sun graced us with its presence or not. It was a wonderful break and we would definitely recommend it here.

“Lovely cosy and well equipped house in a beautiful part of Wales.”

We had a couple of problems.On arrival the black bin hadn't been emptied and was full to capacity, luckily there's recycling bins in the car park next to the property,where we could recycle a lot.secondly the nextdoor neighbour had a problem with my daughter and son-in-law parking on the alloted car space which is a grass verge, saying their car is likely to be scraped,my husband and I parked on the car park with the permit. Personally we weren't comfortable sitting outside in the garden as we felt it wasn't private.luckily there are a couple of good pubs up the road and the locals in the pubs were very welcoming,as were the lovely people who run the Information centre opposite the property. “The property was well equipped and very central for shops and eating places.”

The beds were really comfortable. We had some lovely meals in Newport itself and enjoyed some fabulous walks on the coastal path and in the surrounding countryside. It was lovely to sit outside the cottage in the sunshine enjoying a glass of wine at the end of the day.

“The location of cottage was lovely.”

We enjoyed the walk to local beach and nice clean town and eateries. The furniture in cottage was very nice and quite comfortable.Nice wooden table and twinkly light. Ameneties were adequate. Shortage of toilet roll.No washing up liquid, we left a bottle. See thru door into ensuite shower room and broken window glass to outside. Small shower was very powerfull- lovely. Disappointed no small welcoming pack. We didn't have the parking permit so was allowed to park on the grass verge.The rubbish bins were full outside but we recycled in the next door carpark. The cottage definitely needs some TLC! I Wiped down all handles , light switches and crockery before we used. A small bin was not emptied, full of ladies sanitary wear. Washing machine rubber was mouldy. Fridge was dirty in the grooves. Doors had splashes down them.Cobwebs. Small sink in Main bathroom with glass shelf above meant washing difficult. Everything needed a good clean.Corners etc ......A little disappointed with Sykes..

Thank you for your feedback. So pleased you liked how the cottage has been furnished and its location. However, we were surprised to hear that you felt that it needed some TLC. We do ask guests to report any cleaning issues at the time of arrival, so that an inspection can be carried out and any problems rectified. As you will see from previous guests’ feedback, the owner is joining a trade waste scheme to overcome the issue of the local council’s three-weekly rubbish collection. Property Owner

“Well located, good sized property.”

Lounge has white walls and stark daylight lighting making it difficult to relax. There was no food caddy in the kitchen for recycling. Otherwise very good.

“An excellent little house, right in the middle of Newport.”

It is beautifully decorated with local art and was one of the best stocked properties we have stayed in. There was an ample supply of cleaning products, toilet paper, clothes washing liquid, staple foods like salt, pepper, vinegar and oil and some other useful extras in the food cupboard. Although there are two small bathrooms it does not have a bath. The showers are superb though. My only complaint was a lack of a food bin, so any food waste had to go in the black bin bag. In Pembrokeshire the black bin is only collected every three weeks so that is going to be sitting there for a fortnight. I tried to contact the owners on the two numbers provided but they failed to get back to me. None the less, a great, comfortable place to spend a week.

Awen Ingli is an enticing cottage located in the heart of Newport, in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is ideal for families seeking a peaceful beach break.

The cottage is near to the beach and has permit parking, making it ideal for a family of five to who want easy access to the area's sights.

Make your way inside up the external stone steps and step inside to be enchanted by the stylishly appointed sitting room, where leather seating allures you to relax in front of the Smart TV; why not put on a DVD from the variety available?

Continue to the galley kitchen, a well-equipped space with contemporary fixtures and a large gas range cooker; the group's chef can easily prepare delectable dishes here!

When dinner is ready, take it through to the dining room, which enjoys the fabulous touches of the Welsh dresser and bespoke dining table; don't forget to fetch a bottle of wine from the adjacent cooler and make a toast to this delightful getaway.

As the day draws to a close, choose one of the three wonderful bedrooms to rest in, the first of which is on the ground floor and has a double bed benefiting from an en-suite shower room; climb the stairs to find the second bedroom, a single with USB outlets for charging your devices.

The third bedroom features twin beds and a snug space, which is ideal for curling up with a book or playing games; it also offers a balcony from which you can relish the distant ocean views.

Visit Fishguard, a picturesque seaside town with the gorgeous Lower Town, the setting for Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor's 'Under Milk Wood' and visit the Town Hall to view the wonderful 'Last Invasion Tapestry' which tells the story of the last invasion of mainland Britain in 1797.

Why not venture to Cardigan, a historic market town situated on the River Teifi with a Castle that witnessed the first Welsh Eisteddfod in 1176, as well as the stunning Welsh Wildlife Centre in nearby Cilgerran.
