“Beautiful house in a fabulous location.”

Our second visit here and it didn’t disappoint, wonderful selection of goodies waiting for us , fresh flowers in a vase and wine in the fridge! Thank you Jo, the coffee and walnut cake was epic! This really is an exceptional holiday let and we would highly recommend it. Wonderful walks and wildlife on the doorstep, a great pub, the Golden Lion, offering great food and a warm welcome just up the road, fantastic beaches nearby, it really is an ideal location. We look forward to a return visit.

“We had a fabulous week at Minafon (3 adults, 3 teenagers and a dog).”

Despite having mixed weather we were able to get out every day. Beautiful walks on the doorstep with stunning scenery plus added bonus of being within walking distance to shops and really nice pubs/restaurants. Jo and Shaun were beyond hospitable. The house is so well equipped, they thought of everything. The attention to detail is high and the house was spotless. The homemade cake and stocked drinks fridge were a special highlight especially after a very tiring 9 hour drive! In all the years we've rented cottages/houses in the UK this is the first one we would genuinely consider returning to.

“Minafon is comfortable, cosy spotlessly clean and well equipped.”

It is perfectly situated to explore the local area of outstanding natural beauty, with plenty of easy access walks to the nearby coast path, beach ‘s and golf course. The town and pubs/ eateries being a short walk up the hill..But beware the speeding milk tankers down the little lane! Jo, the owner, met us and made us feel welcome. The yummy cake, and stocked beer/wine fridge was a lovely addition and most welcome after a long journey. There were plenty of fresh clean bath towels and a thoughtful basket of dog and beach towels. The showers are particularly good with plenty of hot water… however the en-suite shower cubicle is quite small, the downstairs shower is spacious enough with lots of room to manoeuvre. The beds are comfy with good quality bedding and a choice of pillows, all smelling clean and fresh.The view from the main bedroom giving lovely views of the estuary. The garden is pretty and dog friendly, providing a space to eat outside or just sit with a cuppa and a book. I think the only thing we missed was a long mirror and a radio/speaker in the kitchen and a bbq.. (Although costly to install, a wood burner in the lounge would make a cosy place to cwtch and snuggle down in winter). We enjoyed our stay even if the weather wasn’t the best..The house made up for it and the young adults in our party had no complaints about the WiFi! We will return .. Thank you so much.

“What a great house!”

We all loved it (3 different generations!) Great location. We loved being able to walk through the garden on to the wheelchair-friendly path beside the estuary, and walk to the Parrog. The cooks amongst us appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. The “welcome goodies” were very generous! Home baked blueberry muffins-delicious. Owner Jo was very helpful and on the day of our arrival, not only accepted our supermarket order but put it all away too. The folder of instructions is excellent. All in all, it was great!

Beautifully prepared and with some great extras such as a well stocked drinks fridge and a delicious coffee and walnut cake (even better than last year's, thank you Jo!). The cottage is well located for easy access to local beaches and to the town and its shops, pubs etc. and for trips further afield. All 7 of us from age 4 to 79 had a really good time

“There is absolutely nothing to fault about this beautiful cottage.”

The owners, Jo and Shaun, have renovated and furnished this property to the highest standards. It’s simply stunning. We had a family Christmas there and it was perfect. The house was decorated with a tree etc and Jo had left us some red wine, white wine and soft drinks. She made mince pies and chocolate brownies for us and provided some milk, butter, eggs as well as a great selection of spices and herbs. They couldn’t do enough for us. There’s also a fantastic book which provides all you need to know about the cottage and the village, all written with humour.it is simply the best place we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you Jo and Shaun

“Minafon is probably the best house we have stayed in.”

There was plenty of room for all the family and the facilities were everything we needed. The extras, such as the beer, wine and soft drinks, as well the coffee cake, were very much appreciated and I don't believe we have stayed anywhere before where so much has been provided. The area is lovely, with walks straight from the door, good shops in the village and a selection of pubs. We hope to be back.

“We arrived to find a beautiful house with plenty of space, huge attention to detail, really comfortable living space and well designed.”

We demolished the welcome drizzle cake and found the very generous stocked drinks fridge with soft drinks and beers an extra bonus. Situated on the edge of the estuary with easy access to the path, this is a perfect spot for dogs, especially with the enclosed garden and the views are beautiful. Only a few minutes walk to the centre with its plethora of pubs and restaurants, great little shops, a good butcher and local supermarket this is a great base to explore this very special region. Plenty to do and see, lovely beaches and very friendly people. This house is very much part of that special experience and we all would thoroughly recommend this for a perfect holiday.

“Absolutely loved Newport and will definitely re-visit in the future.”

The property was spotless and the extras provided were very much appreciated. There is a real attention to detail by the owner, my only observation would be the provision of a parasol would be helpful but this is only a minor thing. The property is fantastically located, far enough away to be quiet but only a short walk to the town. The house backs on to the coastal path which is suitable for wheelchairs and the garden is beautiful and great for dogs.

Jo was very friendly, welcoming and had a beautiful cottage, very well equipped and all the little extras made such a difference, soft drinks, tea, coffee, bottles of wine and a delicious homemade Victoria Sponge cake also in the kitchen was washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, salt, pepper, herbs & spices etc etc. Everything was faultless and we would definitely recommend this cottage, 5 stars from us. It’s ideally placed, quiet, lovely garden, great size property and in a great village. Thanks Jo!

“We cannot recommend this property highly enough.”

The house is beautifully finished, clean and comfortable. Jo was extremely welcoming with great communication prior to and throughout our stay. There were lovely little touches everywhere and generous welcome treats including a delicious homemade coffee and walnut cake. My whole family and I felt so at home for the week we stayed. There were 8 adults, 2 babies and a small dog in our party yet it never felt crowded in the house, there was plenty of space. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The house is perfectly located in Newport, a stones throw from the estuary and a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the village. Newport and the surrounding area has so much to offer. We definitely hope to return to this fantastic house in the future.

The owner , Jo, attention to detail, is stunning!Everything about the cottage was delightful and Jo had included many extras that made our holiday special.We loved the delicious orange syrup cake and washing our hands in the ethically sourced hand soap.The cottage is spacious and the kitchen, garden aspect is really good for sitting outside on a warm summer evening. Superb Victoria sandwich cake left for us (particularly enjoyed by grandson) along with other essential groceries . Cottage is well stocked there isn’t anything further you could want/need. Such a shame about the wet weather but we did manage a couple of days on Newport Beach …. With fleeces!!!

“We had the most amazing 2 weeks at Minafon.”

The beautiful cottage is spacious and so well equipped with everything you’ll need. The owner Jo, made us the best chocolate brownies for the first week, then a delicious Victoria sandwich cake was delivered for the second week. There was fresh flowers in the kitchen on arrival. The sleep quality was perfect, the bedding, pillows & duvets all lovely. The cottage is in an ideal location with wonderful walks from the bottom of the garden. High Street ( butchers & Spar) pubs etc is a 10 minute walk from the cottage. We would not hesitate to recommend Minafon.

“Minafon was a fantastic cottage in an exceptional location .”

We loved the direct access to the nature reserve which was literally at the bottom of the garden through the gate, as were wonderful walks along the coastal path. It was a real bonus to be able to walk to fantastic coves or into the village straight from the house. Newport itself was delightful, with good pubs and independent shops. The house was extremely well equipped, spacious and beautifully appointed, and the warm welcome and wealth of goodies left by Jo was greatly appreciated. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday in a wonderful setting. We will certainly return.

The property

Minafon is a charming stone-fronted cottage nestled in Newport, Sir Benfro, sitting on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, famed for its exceptional views.

Set over two floors and sleeping up to eight guests, Minafon is the perfect tourist base for a family or group of friends to immerse themselves in all west Wales has to offer.

Park your car in one of the two handy designated parking spaces just outside of the cottage, before taking the few stone steps leading down towards the property.

Look forward to snuggling up under the rustic beams and exposed stonework as you enjoy a night of films and popcorn with the family.

Treat your family to delicious home-cooked meals and put your culinary skills to the test in the well-equipped kitchen, before gathering around the dining table to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Guests can benefit from the convenient ground-floor double bedroom with zip/link providing ample sleeping spots for all parties, along with a handy shower room where you can freshen up after a long day on the beach.

Moving on to the first floor, you will find a further three bedrooms, the first being a spacious king-size with balcony and en-suite shower room for guests to get ready in style.

There is also a second-floor double with plenty of storage and a twin room, ideal for children.

Children can enjoy playing garden games on the large lawn area, settling down to enjoy a delicious lunch on the lovely picnic table, whilst you soak up the sun on the swing-seat.

Ideally situated on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Newport is a tourist hotspot, known for its expansive coastal views and array of activities to suit all tastes.

Set on the River Nevern, you can enjoy glorious river-side walks and stop to visit the excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, where you can sample the local welsh delights of welsh cakes and bara brith.

Grab your walking boots and take a romantic walk on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, where you can expect panoramic views of the sea and surrounding areas and some lucky visitors have even managed to spot dolphins and seals on their travels too!

Walk to Parrog and Newport Sands.

For those who love their tennis, bring your rackets and balls with you or if a round of golf is more your thing, pack up your clubs and visit the excellent golf club where you can take in the wonderful vista of Cardigan Bay.

For those seeking something a little different on their trip, the smallest city in Britain, St Davids and its cathedral, is an easy drive.

Be sure to make the short trip to Fishguard, where you can enjoy kayaking on the bay or visit the Town Hall with its famous 100 ft long tapestry detailing the last invasion of mainland Britain.
