  • Howard

“Beautiful small flat in a lovely if remote village.”

Definitely need a car. Owner very helpful. Can thoroughly recommend for a short stay away from it all. Would be helpful if there were a few more pots.

The property

The Briars is a delightful annexe based in the village of Stepaside, 2 ½ miles from Saundersfoot.

Set out as a designated wing of the owner’s home, this attractive annexe is a wonderful choice for couples looking to explore the South West of Wales.

The open-plan living area has been renovated to a high-standard, featuring plenty of modern touches and smart features.

Rustle up a feast from the high-spec kitchen which is fully-equipped with everything you could need during a week-long break, whilst the dining table is situated in the conservatory and offers a refreshing spot to enjoy your meals with the garden scenery in view.

Look forward to unwinding in the sitting area, with a Laura Ashley sofa to sink into and a TV with Sky Q for all your entertainment choices.

Head to the bedroom to find a king-size double bed and plenty of wardrobe space for your personal belongings, plus an en-suite shower room.

Continuing to impress, outside there is a private hot tub to aid your relaxation after a day of rambling the Welsh outdoors.

Less than a mile away is the village of Kilgetty which offers a supermarket, newsagents, takeaways and a pub.

There is also a train station in the village which runs to Tenby, one of Wales’ premier coastal towns.

Pembrokeshire’s beaches are some of the finest in Wales with sandy expanses, secret coves and rock pools, and the beach at Wiseman's Bridge is just a 5 minute walk away.

This superb annexe is in a great location to enjoy all the delights of Pembrokeshire.

About the location

STEPASIDE

Amroth 1 mile; Saundersfoot 4 miles; Tenby 6.5 miles; Narberth 7 miles; Pembroke 10.8 miles.

Once home to both coal and iron mines, Stepaside is now a holiday hamlet with a few houses pubs and restaurants. This valley was a hive of industrial activity from the 14th to the 19th century as it was an integral part of the Pembrokeshire coal field. It’s hard to imagine that now, as very little remains apart from the old ironworks at Stepaside and the railway tunnels between Wisemans Bridge and Saundersfoot. There were 12 collieries working in this area at its heyday. The whole of Pembrokeshire beckons with the harbour and seaside resorts of Amroth just 15 minutes’ walk away, Tenby and Saundersfoot close by, visit secluded sandy beaches, such as the acclaimed Barafundle Bay for a quiet relaxing day, or take in an invigorating walk along the Pembrokeshire Coast National Path. Enjoy a boat trip to Caldey Island and its monastery, or to Skomer, which is renowned for its puffins. For the most adventurous, extreme watersports await, whilst golfers can take the challenge of Tenby's famous links course. The nearby town of Narberth is a delight to discover with its many individual shops, including upmarket boutiques, specialist deli grocers and unique gift shops, and a wide choice of restaurants, bistros and pubs can be found in and around the town. Queen's Hall, Narberth's leading cultural and arts venue hosts a variety of concerts, plays and events, which can be enjoyed throughout the year. A perfect holiday base at any time of year.
