“The cottage is lovely, and the scenery amazing.”
The owner was very friendly and helpful, and made an effort to make the house warm enough as the weather became autumnal.
Your description was misleading. The cottage is most definitely not 'nestled' in the village of Pontfaen, which consists of 3 or 4 houses and a church. The cottage is about 3 miles away along a lane with grass down the middle. Somewhere we got the idea that there was a shop and a pub in the village, which may have referred to nearby Cwm Gwaun. The Pontfaen chip shop is in Newport. There is also a Pont-faen near Brecon. So some of this might be due to my careless use of Google, but the 'nestled' error was definitely you.
Do you really think I've got nothing better to do after driving over 200 miles than answer your emails?
Thank you for your lovely review of The Old Stable, we hope to see you again.
The description says we are near Pontfaen and it does have a pub - the famous Dyffryn Arms or 'Bessies'.
There is a farm shop, Carla's, selling fabulous groceries and meat about a mile from the cottage.
