It is quite a walk down to the town, but I loved doing it every morning to get the newspapers for the 80 year old in our group. She was not used to stairs as she lives in a bungalow, so found negotiating her way around the house quite tricky with all the stairs, but she still loved it and had a great time.
The upstairs lounge area was a great place to hang out and play games in the evening after the kids were in bed!
I suppose if I were to be ultra, ultra picky, I’d say that more sofas in one space would have been good, so that we could all sit together, but we mostly managed by sitting at the downstairs downing table in the big open plan space. We didn’t use the separate drawing room downstairs at all.
All in all, we had the best week of birthday celebrations with the family and I’d happily return and stay at this property again.
