WHITLAND

Narberth 6.6 miles; Carmarthen 15 miles.

Whitland is a small market town lying on the River Tâf, 15 miles from Carmarthen. The small centre has an array of little shops, pubs, a train station, eating places and the Hywel Dda Gardens and Interpretive Centre, with 6 delightful gardens to explore. Nearby, a visit to the beautiful town of Narberth, with its colourful Georgian houses, plentiful shops, bars, bistros and restaurants will not disappoint. A trip to Carmarthen offers more shops, restaurants, tea rooms, a cinema and the pretty steam railway ride or a visit to the mysterious Merlin's Centre. The walkers in your party will be spoilt for choice with the Preseli Hills nearby and the renowned Pembrokeshire Coast Path easily reached nearby. The sandy beaches of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire beckon for lazy days in summer and brisk walks in winter while the Heatherton Park, the wonderful Welsh Zoo as seen on TV, Folly Farm and many more are perfect for family fun days out.
