Porthgain Cottages 

Located 7 miles from St Davids, Porthgain has become a popular tourist hub whilst visiting Pembrokeshire. Due to its picturesque harbour with its crystal clear waters, its access to the coastal path, its historic yet charming pub and its renowned art galleries, you must add this small village to your bucket list.  

Do you enjoy watersports? Whilst staying in Porthgain this coastal location and its harbour makes for a great location for launching kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. Grab your oars and set off to explore the wild Pembrokeshire coastline from the sea including different caves and various secluded beaches. Another popular destination for watersports is the Blue Lagoon which is located close to Porthgain. This former slate quarry is home to a bright aqua pool and has become a popular location for coasteering and climbing.  

If art is your passion, Porthgains historical harbour is home to the Harbour lights gallery and the Alun Davies gallery. Once quarry workers' cottages, these two galleries have got a selection of contemporary pieces and a choice of originals and prints for you to take a look at.  

You must go to the Sloop inn whilst staying in Porthgain. Opened around 1743 this well-known pub is a great suntrap, located right on the harbour and sells the freshest local fish and crabs. Another great eatery is the Shed. This award-winning restaurant serves everything from tea and cake to fish and chips. You won't be hungry whilst staying here.
