The largest natural lake in south Wales and very popular with fishermen, bird watchers and water sport enthusiasts. The lake also boasts the only Crannog found in Wales - it now also houses a re-constructed interpretation of a Crannog which was built by Welsh Thatcher Alan Jones. More of Alan's work can be found on a bird hide on the opposite side of the lake at Ty Mawr.
The lake is a SSSI site and also a Special Area of Conservation. Many bird species can be spotted and there is also a rumour of a lake monster that lives in the depths!
Rowing/fishing boats, kayaks, pedaloes and sailing dingies can be hired from the lakeside carpark and cafe.
