A great place for spotting Georgian and Victorian architecture with a high quantitly of old timber framed houses. The Town lies beneath the ruins of a Norman Castle - first built in the 13th century.
Today Montgomery is a busy market Town offering a good selection of pubs, restaurants, cafe's and shops to explore. There is an interesting museum (The Old Bell Museum) which has fascinating information on the social history of Montgomery. Offa's Dyke is close by and St Nicolas' Church is also worth a visit with some fine effigies of medieval folk on view.
