It's been featured in many publications and on TV and enjoys a quiet, rural location off the beaten track about halfway between Dinas and Fishguard and about 1 mile from the sea.
Newport, the Preseli Hills, Gwaun valley and of course the spectacular Pembrokeshire coastline are all close-by.
This tiny cottage is very special indeed; the open plan living makes it a perfect retreat for couples or a small family and you'll enjoy free access to the beautiful gardens at all times - even when everybody else has gone home.
Entrance is into the open plan KITCHEN/SITTING & DINING room with double height exposed A frame beams, woodburning stove and a tiled floor with rugs.
The room has plain whitewashed walls and is decorated and dotted with antique plates, local pottery and art.
The sitting area has 2 two-seater sofas, coffee table and bookcase with local info including o/s maps, walks, attractions, etc.
There is NO TV.
CD and DVD players available on request.
The dining area has a table, chairs and Welsh dresser.
The kitchen has a range of fitted cream shaker style units and is equipped with double sink, electric hob & oven, microwave, fridge, kettle & toaster, cafetiere and a welcome tray of tea, coffee, sugar, milk & Welsh cakes.
The SHOWER ROOM has an electric shower, hand basin, illuminated demisting mirror with shaver point, WC, heated towel rail. Bath mats, hand towels & toilet paper are supplied.
The BALUSTRADED SLEEPING LOFT under the eaves is accessed by an ingenious counter-balanced staircase which descends and rises with a simple fingertip touch. It may not suit everybody, so please make sure you have checked the photos out on our website.
There is a king-size bed and a single bed, both have duvets with traditional Welsh blanket bedcovers.
There is also a chest of drawers, armchair, mirror, hairdryer, carpeted floor, lamps & reading lights on beams above beds.
Dyffryn Fernant is a 6-acre country garden with numerous small enchanted gardens within including a fernery, courtyard, bog, orchard, quarry, wood, sheepfold, azalea bank, a magic garden and The Beyond.
There is a slate terrace with a table, bench & chairs, for exclusive use of cottage guests as well as all the other areas which you are free to explore and enjoy.
There are fabulous views of Garn Fawr and the Preseli Hills. There is a large pond - supervision for children essential.
Located in the Long Barn the owners have a Library with an extensive collection of books and journals on gardens, gardening, plants, landscape and nature as well as a collection of books on art and artists.
The Library affords a tranquil place to sit and read and books can be taken into the garden to relax and enjoy in one of the many places to sit.
The garden and library are open to the public daily, 12-6pm, April - October inclusive.
There are unlimited parking spaces 100m away. You may bring your car to the cottage on arrival and departure days.
Logs and electricity are included in the rental from May to September and charged for at a flat rate of £30 per week at all other times - please pay when on holiday.
Bed linen and towels are included in the rental.
Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly and under control.
The owner offers use of her washing machine, tumble dryer and chest freezer in an outbuilding.
A travel cot (babes in arms) and stairgate (dogs) can be provided.
Cottage not suitable for toddlers, but babies & young children ok.
Very tall or infirm people may find it unsuitable.
