“A perfectly adequate place to stay with good amenities.”

Clean and well maintained. Parking is a little tight - as is the turn in the road from St David’s direction! Would have been nice to have the heating turned up a bit higher on our arrival - pretty chilly and wet day. Lots of blankets available though, to keep us warm. Lots of lovely hot water .: but the water heater was very noisy in the night at times! Towels - no handtowels hanging ready in bathrooms .. and bath towels were quite small. Solva is a gorgeous little village. We enjoyed a meal at the Hats and Barrels - friendly with good food. The coast walk from Solva to Nine Wells (details in the house file) was lovely. Will definitely consider staying here again.

The property

Now under new ownership and recently refurbished, this comfortable and welcoming courtyard cottage is family friendly and is situated on a quiet lane on the edge of Upper Solva, in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Within walking distance is Lower Solva's picturesque harbour, pubs and restaurants serving locally caught seafood, shops and galleries.

This ideally placed accommodation is a great starting point for walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the coastal bus stops nearby.

Newgale (famous for its surfing and huge sandy beach) and the city of St Davids, are both a short drive away.

The islands of Skomer and Ramsey are well worth a visit.

About the location

SOLVA

St Davids 6 miles; Haverfordwest 12 miles.

A superb village around a tidal harbour where boats can be launched and walks along the dramatic coast path will be a delight any time of the year. This pretty little village may be small but offers friendly pubs serving good food, gift shops, art galleries and a nearby superb woollen mill shop where special gifts can be bought to remember your stay in Wales. Lazy days sitting and watching the ebb and flow of the tide and the boats bobbing in and out of the harbour are a sheer delight. Visit the nearby woollen mill itself to sit by the waterwheel, go into the weaving shed or enjoy a break in the cafe. Just a few miles from Solva you can visit St Davids, the smallest city in Britain, with its magnificent St Davids Cathedral and wander the small streets to again find unique gifts, eat a hearty meal or an afternoon tea, or just sit in the peaceful grounds of the cathedral, it also houses Oriel y Parc an information centre offering suggestions for exploring the surrounding area. Whitesands Bay with its superb beach offers relaxing days or maybe some surfing. Take boat trips to spot dolphins and wonderful sea birds or take bike rides along country roads. A wonderful location to enjoy your Welsh holiday.

Note: Dogs but must be kept downstairs.
Note: No baby equipment is provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
