Glan Helyg is a superb spacious detached property tucked away close to the heart of Newport in Pembrokeshire and perfect for families or for groups of friends.

It's close to the excellent range of eateries, pubs and individual shops in Newport and a 5 minute walk from the beach at Parrog, the Nevern estuary and the coastal path.

The larger beach at Traethmawr (Newport Sands) is also within walking distance via the iron bridge and there is an 18 hole golf course close-by.

Newport is set at the foot of Carningli Mountain where you can walk to the top and enjoy wonderful views of Newport Bay and the Preseli Hills and even to Ireland on a clear day.

The coastal walkers' bus can be caught in the town enabling you to walk a different stretch of coast path every day.

When you arrive in Newport you can park your car and forget about using it until you need to go home.

Holiday Accommodation

Glan Helyg is approached by a tarmac drive.

The main door leads into a fabulous large hallway with a double height ceiling and a handmade curved oak staircase.

Ground floor.

The main feature of this house is the wonderful light and airy SITTING ROOM with two glass walls incorporating sliding doors which lead to the covered wrap around dining deck and to the lawn.

Skylights allow light to stream in and make this room somewhere you want to spend time relaxing.

It is furnished with two large sofas, comfortable armchairs, coffee tables, occasional lamps, TV and DVD player.

A wide doorway leads into the DINING ROOM with a bay window and coal effect gas fire.

It is furnished with a dining table to seat 8 and a pine dresser.

A peninsula unit separates the dining room from the KITCHEN which has a range of fully fitted units, gas hob, built in double oven and grill, microwave, larder fridge, small freezer and a dishwasher.

There is a UTILITY room off the entrance hallway with a washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and plenty of storage/prep space.

A door leads through to a WET ROOM with double shower and modesty glass screen, WC and hand basin.

A further door leads out to the garden so this wet room can be used from inside or outside.

The SNUG is perfect for reading or for children to play in or older adults to relax in.

It has a gas fire, sofa, armchair, TV with DVD player and a selection of books and games.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor.

BEDROOM 1 has a king size bed, bedside tables with lamps, built in cupboard, wooden cot and oak chest of drawers.

BEDROOM 2 has twin beds, bedside tables with lamps and cupboard.

The ground floor BATHROOM has a modern white suite of P shaped bath with shower over, WC and hand basin. 

First floor.

A beautiful curved oak staircase leads you to the other two bedrooms.

BEDROOM 3 is the MASTER BEDROOM and very spacious with a triple aspect affording mountain and distant sea views.

The bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, bedside tables with lamps, built in wardrobe, oak chest of drawers, window seat and an armchair.

The EN-SUITE comprises a large shower cubicle, WC and hand basin.

BEDROOM 4 also has a king size bed, bedside tables with lamps, built in wardrobe, oak chest of drawers, armchair and a triple aspect with one very attractive arched window with shutters.

The adjacent large BATHROOM has a modern white suite of P shaped bath with shower over, WC and hand basin.

Garden and Parking

At the top of the gated tarmac drive there is a large parking area for at least 4 cars.

There is also a lawn.

At the other side of the house is the main garden which can be accessed either via the utility and wet room or via the glass doors in the main siting room.

The L shaped covered decking is great for al-fresco dining whatever the meal or the weather and a table, chairs and barbecue are provided.

There is a secluded and enclosed lawn with mature trees and shrubs perfect for sunbathing and safe for pets and supervised children.

Other Information

There is full gas central heating throughout the property with underfloor heating in the entrance hall.

This is included in the rental from May to September and charged for at a flat rate of £35 per week at all other times.

This will be added to your booking.

A wooden cot and a highchair are available.

Beds will be made up with fresh linen for your arrival.

A bath and hand towel may be hired at £5 per guest.

Free high speed fibre internet.

One small well behaved dog is welcome but restricted to the kitchen, dining and sitting rooms. If you would like to bring more, please call first to discuss.

No smoking.

At the rear of the property there is space to store bikes and surf boards safely.
