Aberavon Beach is situated on the edge of Swansea Bay in South Wales.

The beach is popular with surfers, sand yachting enthusiasts, kitesurfers and families alike and was once the principal resort for people living in the South Wales Valleys. Lifeguards patrol the beach daily between the 21st of May and the 4th of September.

One of Wales’ longest beaches, Aberavon Beach is popular in every season. From dog walkers in the winter to surfers in the summer months, there’s always something going on. The beach is backed by a promenade and there is a skate park, a splash play pool and a sunken garden to enjoy – making it a great option for families. There are also cafes, ice cream parlours, restaurants and pubs nearby – ideal for strolling back to after a busy day on the sand.

Are dogs allowed?

Dog restrictions apply on both the promenade and beach. Dogs are permitted on the promenade at all times but have to be kept on a lead and dogs are not allowed on the beach between the 1st May and the 30th September.

What about annual events?
